Singapore Airlines gives Economy Lite and Value fares 25 kg of checked baggage and Standard and Flexi fares 30 kg, rising to 35 kg in Premium Economy, 40 kg in Business and 50 kg in Suites and First. Economy passengers carry one cabin bag of up to 7 kg and 115 cm. Flights to or from the USA and Canada count pieces instead: two 23 kg bags in Economy.
Economy fares include 25 kg or 30 kg of checked baggage, Premium Economy 35 kg, Business 40 kg and Suites and First 50 kg. That total is a weight, not a bag count, so you can split it across several bags as long as none weighs over 32 kg. The weight concept covers every route except flights to or from the USA and Canada, which use pieces.
Singapore Airlines says your final destination decides whether the weight or the piece concept applies to your ticket.
| CABIN | WEIGHT CONCEPT (MOST ROUTES) | PIECE CONCEPT (USA, CANADA) |
|---|---|---|
| Economy Lite, Value | 25 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
| Economy Standard, Flexi | 30 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
| Premium Economy | 35 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
| Business | 40 kg | 2 x 32 kg |
| Suites and First | 50 kg | 2 x 32 kg |
Lite and Value include 25 kg; Standard and Flexi include 30 kg. On flights to or from the USA and Canada the fare stops mattering, because every Economy ticket gets two pieces of 23 kg each. Cabin baggage is the same on all four: one bag of 7 kg plus one small extra item.
| ECONOMY FARE | BOOKING CLASSES | WEIGHT CONCEPT | PIECE CONCEPT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | V, K | 25 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
| Value | Q, N | 25 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
| Standard | M, H, W | 30 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
| Flexi | Y, B, E | 30 kg | 2 x 23 kg |
Two checked bags is the rule in every cabin to or from the USA and Canada. Economy and Premium Economy bags can weigh up to 23 kg each, while Business and Suites or First bags can weigh up to 32 kg. Each bag must measure no more than 158 cm (62 in) in total length, width and height.
| CABIN | PIECES | WEIGHT EACH | SIZE EACH |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy, Premium Economy | 2 | 23 kg | 158 cm (62 in) |
| Business, Suites and First | 2 | 32 kg | 158 cm (62 in) |
Economy and Premium Economy passengers get 1 cabin bag of up to 7 kg, and Business, Suites and First passengers get 2 bags of up to 7 kg each. Each bag must stay within 115 cm in total length, width and height. No individual dimensions are published. Bags over the limits are taken at the gate and stored in the hold.
| CABIN | PIECES | WEIGHT EACH | SIZE EACH |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy, Premium Economy | 1 | 7 kg | 115 cm (L+W+H) |

Yes, one extra item up to 40 x 30 x 10 cm rides free on top of the cabin allowance. It can be a handbag, a laptop bag, a camera bag or a document bag. You pick one, not several. No weight limit is published for it.
No single checked bag may weigh more than 32 kg, on any route. On US and Canada flights each bag must also stay within 158 cm (62 in) in total. For weight concept routes the airline gives no general size limit, but bulky items checked at Singapore Changi cannot exceed 200 x 75 x 80 cm.
From Singapore, extra weight at the airport costs USD 8 per kg to Southeast Asia and up to USD 28 per kg to Europe and Africa. Buying online more than 48 hours ahead cuts that to USD 6 and USD 21. On US and Canada flights you pay per piece instead: USD 150 to USD 350 for an extra bag at the airport.
The prepaid discount does not apply to piece concept tickets or to itineraries with a stopover.
| FROM SINGAPORE TO | AIRPORT, PER KG | PREPAID OVER 48H, PER KG |

USD 100 to USD 225 is the airport charge for either an extra 9 kg on a bag or a bag over 158 cm (62 in). The overweight charge lets an Economy bag go from 23 kg up to the 32 kg ceiling. Bicycles are exempt from the oversize charge.

| Extra piece | USD 150 to 350 | USD 120 to 280 |

| Over 158 cm | USD 100 to 225 | USD 80 to 180 |
KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members get an extra 20 kg, and Elite Silver members an extra 10 kg. PPS Club doubles the base allowance, so a Flexi passenger goes from 30 kg to 60 kg. On US and Canada flights, PPS Club adds 2 pieces and Elite Gold adds 1. These extras apply only on flights Singapore Airlines operates, not codeshares.
| STATUS | WEIGHT CONCEPT | PIECE CONCEPT |
|---|---|---|
| PPS Club | Base allowance again | +2 pieces |
| KrisFlyer Elite Gold, Star Alliance Gold | +20 kg | +1 piece |
| KrisFlyer Elite Silver | +10 kg | Unverified |

Yes, but only cats and dogs at least 3 months old, and only as checked baggage in the hold. No pets travel in the cabin. Boeing 737 flights carry no pets, and destinations including Australia, New Zealand, London Heathrow, Dubai and Hong Kong are excluded. Give the airline at least 2 weeks of notice.
Snub-nosed breeds such as pugs, bulldogs and Persian cats are on the airline's banned list.
