Jin Air's cabin bag limit is one piece of 10 kg measuring up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm (115 cm total). Economy includes 15 kg of free checked baggage on Korean domestic flights, and each extra kilo costs KRW 2,000 when paid in Korea. Most international economy fares carry about 15 kg, while Guam, Saipan and Australia routes use a piece system.
The cabin bag allowance is one piece no larger than 55 cm high, 40 cm wide and 20 cm deep, or 115 cm in total. It must fit in the closed overhead bin or under the seat in front. A coat, a few books and infant food ride free beside it, and if the cabin runs out of space the bag goes in the hold at no charge.
Alongside the cabin bag you can keep a laptop, a briefcase, or a handbag or cosmetic bag with you, as listed in Article 28 of the domestic conditions. Jin Air gives no size for these items, so pick something that slides under the seat. Mobility aids such as a folding wheelchair, crutches or braces are also allowed on board free.
The limit is 10 kg (22 lb) for the one cabin bag, written into the domestic conditions of carriage. The international conditions give only the 115 cm size, but Jin Air applies the same 10 kg at the gate on international flights. Staff can weigh bags at check-in, and an overweight bag is moved to the hold and charged as excess.
Economy is sold at Special, Discount and Normal fare levels, and the free checked allowance follows the fare and the route. On Korean domestic flights economy gets 15 kg and JINI BIZ gets 30 kg. Most international economy fares include about 15 kg, the cheapest promotional fares can include none, and flights to Guam, Saipan and Australia count pieces instead of kilos.
| FARE OR CABIN | DOMESTIC | INTERNATIONAL |
|---|---|---|
| Special | 15 kg | Fare dependent, may be 0 |
| Discount | 15 kg | About 15 kg |
| Normal | 15 kg | About 15 kg |
| JINI BIZ | 30 kg | Where sold |
| Guam, Saipan, Australia | n/a | Piece system |
Each checked piece should stay within 32 kg and 203 cm in total length, width and height. Anything heavier or bigger needs approval before you fly or has to go as cargo. Jin Air can refuse a bag whose weight, size or contents make it unsuitable, and laptops, cash, jewelry and other valuables are not accepted in checked luggage.
On domestic routes each kilo over the allowance costs KRW 2,000 when paid in Korea, and 0.5 kg or more rounds up to a full kilo. International excess is charged per kilo at a rate set for each route, and buying prepaid baggage online before departure costs less than paying at the airport. A bulky item can also fly on its own purchased seat, up to 73 kg.
Yes. Small dogs, cats and birds can travel in the cabin in a closed container, and international trips need Jin Air's agreement in advance plus the health and entry papers. The pet and container are charged as excess baggage on their total weight, so KRW 2,000 per kilo at home. Cabin pets are capped at about 7 kg with the carrier. Service animals fly free.
| OPTION | CHARGE | LIMIT |
|---|---|---|
| In cabin | Excess rate on pet + carrier weight | About 7 kg, carrier about 115 cm |
| In the hold | Excess rate | About 32 kg with kennel, by request |
| Service animals | Free | Outside the allowance |
Sports gear such as a golf bag counts toward your free checked allowance first, and any excess is charged under Jin Air's special-item rules. For children, one folding stroller, carry basket or car seat per infant travels free as a cabin item or checked bag, and children on a paid fare also get one stroller or car seat on top of their allowance.
Not yet. Air Busan's and Air Seoul's English sites carried no notice of a combined airline with Jin Air on October 3, 2026, and Jin Air's own conditions of carriage make no mention of one. Until an official notice appears, book against the rules of the airline operating your flight. Air Busan and Air Seoul set their own cabin bag and checked limits.
