Jeju Air's free cabin bag allowance is one bag up to 40 x 20 x 55 cm plus a 40 x 30 x 15 cm personal item, with 10 kg total for both. BASIC fares carry no free checked bag, STANDARD includes 15 kg and BIZ LITE 30 kg. Each checked item may weigh 32 kg. Prepaid bags start from about KRW 30,000 abroad.
Every Jeju Air fare includes one free carry-on suitcase of up to 40 x 20 x 55 cm, which the airline also expresses as 115 cm total with no side over 55 cm. A 21 inch case is the size it names. You may also bring one personal item. When overhead bins fill up, a bag that fits the rules can still be checked at the gate.
Jeju Air staff will not lift bags into the bins for you, except for passengers with reduced mobility.
Alongside the cabin bag, Jeju Air lets you carry one personal item of up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm, such as a laptop bag, handbag or a small amount of duty-free shopping. It has no separate weight allowance: it shares the 10 kg total with your suitcase. Mobility aids and a flat folding stroller of 115 cm or less are allowed in addition.
The cabin weight limit is 10 kg (22 lb), and it covers the suitcase and the personal item together. Jeju Air's own example is an 8 kg bag plus a 2 kg duty-free bag, which is fine. Once the combined weight goes over 10 kg, excess baggage charges may apply, so weigh both pieces before you leave home.
Three fare levels decide the checked allowance. BASIC includes no free checked bag, STANDARD includes 15 kg and BIZ LITE includes 30 kg for adults and children. All three keep the same free 10 kg cabin allowance. Some server text on Jeju Air's site still uses the older FLY and FLYBAG names with the same 15 kg figure.
| FARE | CABIN BAG | FREE CHECKED BAG |
|---|---|---|
| BASIC | 10 kg, free | None |
| STANDARD | 10 kg, free | 15 kg |
| BIZ LITE | 10 kg, free | 30 kg |
Checked bags on a BASIC fare are bought as prepaid baggage under Purchase Additional Services, and the price depends on route and weight. Expect from about KRW 30,000 per bag on short international routes, with domestic bags cheaper. Buying ahead online costs less than paying at the airport. Infants without a seat get 10 kg free on international flights only.
Each checked item may weigh up to 32 kg (71 lb). The size cap is 158 cm in total on domestic flights and 203 cm on international routes. Guam and Saipan routes allow two pieces with a combined 273 cm. Special items such as instruments and bicycles may reach 292 cm including the case.
| ROUTE | MAX SIZE | MAX WEIGHT |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic | 158 cm (62 in) | 32 kg (71 lb) |
| International | 203 cm (80 in) | 32 kg (71 lb) |
| Guam and Saipan | 2 pieces, 273 cm combined | 32 kg (71 lb) |
| Special baggage | 292 cm (115 in) | 32 kg (71 lb) |
Weight above your fare's free allowance is charged per kilogram at check-in. Rates run about KRW 2,000 per kg on domestic flights and about KRW 10,000 to 20,000 per kg on international routes, depending on region. Bags beyond the standard size limit, up to 292 cm, pay an extra surcharge at the counter.
Small dogs and cats can fly in the cabin with Jeju Air when the pet and carrier together weigh about 7 kg or less and the carrier fits under the seat. The fee starts from about KRW 20,000 on domestic flights and is higher abroad. It is charged separately from your cabin allowance. Larger animals travel in the hold in an IATA crate.
Three paid memberships sit under J Members: Pet Membership & Pet Pass, Sports Membership and Golf Membership. They suit frequent travelers with a pet or sports kit, and are bought separately from the fare. J Members tier status itself adds no free checked bag. A separate Traveling with Pets page explains pet travel rules.
Jeju Air sells pet and golf memberships under its J Members program, separate from the fare you book.
Sports equipment costs KRW 20,000 (USD 20) per item at the airport or KRW 15,000 online, a 25% saving, payable until 24 hours before departure. Covered items include bicycles, skis, snowboards, surfboards, windsurf boards and diving gear. Weight above your free allowance is charged on top. Motorized bicycles, scooters and jet skis are refused.
A 20 kg bicycle on a 15 kg allowance pays the sports fee plus 5 kg of excess.
One fully foldable stroller, bassinet or car seat flies free on both domestic and international flights. Wheelchairs and mobility aids travel free outside the allowance, though a wheelchair must be under 80 cm tall to load. Large instruments of 115 to 195 cm need an extra seat booked through Customer Service, and small ones fit the cabin rules.
Quick Baggage Pickup at the aircraft door costs KRW 3,000 domestic and KRW 5,000 international per item.
40 x 20 x 55 cm is the limit for the carry-on suitcase, or 115 cm total with no side over 55 cm. You may add a personal item of 40 x 30 x 15 cm, and both pieces share 10 kg.
