Economy passengers on Brussels Airlines get 1 checked bag of 23 kg on long-haul flights, and Economy Comfort and Flex include the same within Europe. Economy Light and the new Economy Basic include no checked bag, while Business gets 2 x 32 kg. Since May 19, 2026, Economy Basic travelers may bring only a 40 x 30 x 15 cm personal item.
Economy gets 1 checked bag of 23 kg on long-haul flights, and on Economy Comfort, Comfort Green and Flex within Europe. Economy Light carries no checked bag on any route, and neither does the new Economy Basic. Premium Economy includes 2 x 23 kg, cut to 1 x 23 kg on the Premium Economy Light fare. Business includes 2 x 32 kg, or 1 x 32 kg on Business Light.
Brussels Airlines prints two allowance tables on one page: the Premium Economy columns mark the long-haul one.

The carry-on limit is 55 x 40 x 23 cm and 8 kg. Economy fares from Light upward allow one such bag plus a personal item, while Business allows two carry-on pieces of 8 kg each. The carry-on page doesn't say whether wheels and handles count toward the 55 cm, so measure the bag with them on.
Your personal item can measure up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm, and every fare includes one. It goes under the seat in front of you. No separate weight limit for the personal item appears on the carry-on page. On Economy Basic it is the only free bag, so a small backpack or laptop bag has to hold everything.
Economy Basic includes 1 personal item and nothing else: no carry-on trolley and no checked bag. The Lufthansa Group launched it on April 28, 2026 for short- and medium-haul travel from May 19, 2026, rolling it out route by route, and Brussels Airlines sells it. Light adds a 55 x 40 x 23 cm carry-on but still no hold bag, and Comfort, Comfort Green and Flex add 1 x 23 kg.

Each checked bag can measure 158 cm (62.2 in) in total, counting pockets, wheels and handles. Economy and Premium Economy bags are capped at 23 kg per piece and Business bags at 32 kg. Infants get 1 bag of 23 kg, and children receive the adult allowance.
Gate-checking a carry-on that breaks the rules costs EUR 60 to EUR 110 (USD 75 to USD 125), depending on route, and only a credit card is accepted. No fixed price for an extra checked bag is published; you add one online up to 2 hours before departure, before check-in. Groups bringing more than 5 extra pieces must register them with the Service Centre.
Overweight and oversize charges are not published on the baggage pages we checked. The checked baggage page sets 158 cm and 23 kg or 32 kg per piece by cabin but gives no price for exceeding them. We will add the bands once Brussels Airlines prints them.
No figures are published. The checked baggage page says the allowance depends on travel class, route and frequent flyer status, but it lists no extra pieces for Miles & More or Star Alliance Gold members. Your status allowance shows in your booking.
