SAS Economy Standard includes one checked bag of up to 23 kg, Premium includes two at 23 kg each, and Business includes two at 32 kg each. Economy Light has no checked bag, and in Europe its 8 kg cabin bag is sold separately from 16 EUR. All fares keep a free 40 x 30 x 15 cm underseat bag.
Economy Standard and Flex include 1 checked bag of up to 23 kg. Premium raises that to 2 bags at 23 kg each, and Business gives 2 bags at 32 kg each. Economy Light includes no checked bag at all, so every suitcase on that fare is paid extra. Each fare also keeps a free underseat bag of 40 x 30 x 15 cm.
Flex versions of each cabin carry the same bags as the base fare and add refundability.
| FARE | CHECKED BAGS | WEIGHT PER BAG | CABIN BAGS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy Light | 0 | Not included | Underseat bag; carry-on outside Europe only |
| Economy Standard / Flex | 1 | 23 kg | Underseat bag + 1 carry-on (8 kg) |

| Business / Business Flex | 2 | 32 kg | Underseat bag + 1 carry-on (2 outside Europe) |
The SAS cabin bag limit is 55 x 40 x 23 cm with a maximum weight of 8 kg. On Standard, Flex, Premium and Business tickets you bring that bag plus a smaller underseat item at no charge. Staff check size and weight before departure, and a bag that fails goes in the hold for a fee.
An SAS underseat bag can measure up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm and hold no more than 18 L. SAS names a handbag, backpack or laptop bag as examples, and the item must fit under the seat in front of you, not in the overhead bin. Every ticket type, Economy Light included, gets one.
Inside Europe, Economy Light gets only the 40 x 30 x 15 cm underseat bag; the 8 kg cabin bag is listed for Light on flights outside Europe. Light travelers can buy a cabin bag, from 12 EUR within Scandinavia or 16 EUR to Europe when booked early. Paying at check-in or the gate costs 45 or 50 EUR. One SAS page still says a carry-on is always free, so we show this as a conflict.
SAS sells the cabin bag add-on only to Economy Light; Standard, Flex, Premium and Business already include one and cannot buy a second.
| ROUTE | BOUGHT EARLY | LAST 4 HOURS | AT AIRPORT OR GATE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic DK/SE, within Scandinavia | 12 EUR | 30 EUR | 45 EUR |
| Scandinavia to/from Europe | 16 EUR | 35 EUR | 50 EUR |
Between Scandinavia or Finland and the rest of Europe, a first extra bag on Economy Light costs 30 EUR when added at least 8 days before departure. Standard, Premium and Business travelers pay 45 EUR for a first extra bag over their allowance in the same window. Prices step up closer to departure and reach 75 EUR per bag inside 22 hours. Domestic Denmark and Sweden start lower, at 20 EUR for Light.
SAS also publishes every fee in DKK, NOK, SEK and USD, and the cheapest window differs by route (8 days for most of Europe, 14 days for Southern Europe).
| BAG (EUROPE) | LIGHT, 8+ DAYS | STANDARD/PREMIUM/BUSINESS, 8+ DAYS | UNDER 22 HOURS |

Checked bags on SAS can measure up to 158 cm when you add length, width and height. The weight limit runs 23 to 32 kg depending on ticket type and destination: 23 kg in Economy and Premium, 32 kg in Business. Flights to and from Greenland allow up to 30 kg. SAS does not say what happens to a bag above 32 kg.
On European routes, an overweight bag costs 65 EUR between 23.1 and 28 kg and 105 EUR between 28.1 and 32 kg. Domestic flights charge 55 and 85 EUR, and Asia or North America flights charge 75 and 135 EUR. Bags over 158 cm pay a flat fee per bag, per one way, set by route. All of these fees are paid only at the airport.
| ROUTE | 23.1 TO 28 KG | 28.1 TO 32 KG |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic | 55 EUR | 85 EUR |

| Asia and North America | 75 EUR | 135 EUR |
| Oversize over 158 cm | Flat fee by route, at airport | Flat fee by route, at airport |
On long-haul flights, Premium and Business each allow 2 carry-on bags of 8 kg, one more than in Europe. Economy Light gains the 8 kg cabin bag outside Europe but still has no checked bag; its first extra bag costs 70 EUR. Standard, Premium and Business pay 90 EUR for a first bag beyond the allowance, and anything added inside 22 hours costs 120 EUR.

EuroBonus Silver members get 1 extra checked bag, and Gold and Diamond members get 2. Infants under 2 can check 1 bag of up to 23 kg on any fare except Light. SAS pages we fetched do not list an extra bag for SkyTeam Elite members from other programs.
Yes. A small dog or cat over 8 weeks old can ride in the cabin in a soft carrier up to 40 x 25 x 23 cm, with pet and carrier together weighing no more than 8 kg. The carrier counts as your carry-on. The cabin fee is 75 EUR one way within Scandinavia and Europe. Business cabins to or from North America and Asia take no pets. Dogs and cats up to 50 kg with kennel can go in the hold for 169 EUR in Europe. UK routes take no pets.
SAS bars snub-nosed breeds such as bulldogs and pugs from the hold, and one carrier may hold two pets of the same species.

Sports equipment travels as 1 piece of up to 23 kg and must be added at least 24 hours before departure. EuroBonus Silver, Gold and Diamond members and Premium or Business travelers can swap 1 checked bag for it. Economy Light always pays, and the special baggage page does not show the fee.
Expect checks: SAS says it measures and weighs cabin bags before departure. A bag that is too big or heavy goes in the hold, and on European routes the airport or gate price is 50 EUR. Light travelers who add the bag online early pay 16 EUR instead.
