JetBlue allows one carry-on up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches (55.88 x 35.56 x 22.86 cm), wheels and handles included, plus a personal item on every fare, Main Base included. Added at least 24 hours before departure, the first checked bag on U.S. and nearby routes costs $45 off-peak or $49 on peak dates. Mint includes two free bags up to 70 lb.
The limit is 22 x 14 x 9 inches (55.88 x 35.56 x 22.86 cm), and JetBlue counts wheels and handles in that measurement. Every fare, Main Base included, gets one carry-on for the overhead bin and one personal item for under the seat. There is no carry-on weight restriction as long as you can lift the bag yourself.
Your personal item can measure up to 17 x 13 x 8 inches (43.2 x 33 x 20.32 cm) and must fit under the seat in front of you. JetBlue names a purse, daypack or laptop bag as examples, so a slim backpack within those numbers qualifies. One diaper bag for a lap infant rides free on top of that allowance.
No. JetBlue says it has no weight restriction for carry-on bags, so agents look at size rather than pounds. The only practical test is that you can lift the bag into the overhead bin on your own. A bag over 22 x 14 x 9 in is what gets pulled aside.
Yes, Main Base includes 1 full-size carry-on and 1 personal item, the same as Main and Main Flex. Bookings made after July 29, 2026 use the new Main Base, Main, Main Flex, EvenMore and Mint fare names; older bookings keep Blue Basic and its siblings, which have included a carry-on since September 6, 2024. Main Base adds a fee for seat selection and boards in General. Mint and Mint Flex include 2 checked bags up to 70 lb (32 kg) each.
JetBlue's old-to-new fare mapping (Blue Basic to Main Base) is reported in the press but the previous-fares page did not load for us, so treat it as unverified.

A standard checked bag can weigh 50 lb (22.73 kg) and measure 62 inches (157.48 cm) in overall dimensions. Mint passengers get 70 lb (32 kg) per bag. JetBlue refuses any bag over 99 lb or over 80 inches.
Overweight bags from 51 to 99 lb cost $150, and oversize bags from 63 to 80 inches also cost $150. JetBlue charges each category that applies, so a bag that is both heavy and large pays both fees on top of the regular bag fee. These bags travel on a load-availability basis.
On flights to and from London, Paris and other European cities, Main, Main Flex, EvenMore and EvenMore Flex include 1 free checked bag. Main Base and EvenMore Base pay $75 for the first bag and $109 for the second off-peak, or $85 and $119 on peak dates. A third bag costs $200 off-peak and $210 at peak.
The first bag is also free on all fares to and from Cartagena, Guayaquil, Medellin, Port-au-Prince, Georgetown, Barranquilla and Cali.
| FARE | 1ST BAG | 2ND BAG |
|---|---|---|
| Main Base / EvenMore Base | $75 ($85 peak) | $109 ($119 peak) |

Five groups check at least 1 bag free: - Mint and Mint Flex passengers get 2 bags at up to 70 lb. - Mosaic 2 to 4 members get 2 free bags. - Mosaic 1 members get the first bag free. - JetBlue Plus and Premier cardmembers get the first bag free. - U.S. military personnel and their families have separate bag exceptions, though the amounts were not on the pages we could read.
Yes, small dogs and cats can fly in the cabin in a carrier no larger than 17 x 12.5 x 8.5 inches (43.18 x 31.75 x 21.59 cm), with pet and carrier together around 20 lb. The fee is about $150 each way. The pet and carrier count as your personal item, so you keep your overhead carry-on. Each traveler can bring up to 2 pets, but the second needs its own seat and fee.
If you show up without a carrier, JetBlue sells one at the ticket counter for $55.
Size is the test, since there is no weight limit. Keep wheels and handles inside 22 x 14 x 9 inches, because JetBlue includes them. Bin space is first come on full flights, and Blue Basic tickets booked by July 29, 2026 still board in the final group.
Yes. Blue Basic has included one free carry-on and one personal item since September 6, 2024, and the Main Base fare sold after July 29, 2026 includes the same allowance.
No. JetBlue counts the pet and carrier as your personal item, so you can still bring a full-size carry-on for the overhead bin. The carrier must fit under the seat in front of you.
Yes, as long as the 22 x 14 x 9 inches includes the wheels and handles. Plenty of bags sold as 22 inch measure longer once wheels are added, so measure yours before the trip.
Two. Mint and Mint Flex include two checked bags, each up to 70 lb (32 kg), on U.S., Caribbean, Latin America and transatlantic routes.
99 lb. Bags from 51 to 99 lb pay a $150 overweight fee, and anything heavier is refused, as is any bag over 80 inches.
$150 each way per pet is the likely fee. Pet and carrier should weigh about 20 lb together, and the carrier must fit under the seat in front of you as your personal item.
