IndiGo economy fares include 15 kg of checked baggage in one piece on domestic flights, and 20 kg, 25 kg or 30 kg on international flights depending on the sector. Every passenger may carry one cabin bag of up to 7 kg and 115 cm, plus a 3 kg personal article. The Lite fare, announced in July 2026, includes no free checked bag.
Economy tickets on domestic flights include 15 kg of checked baggage in one piece. IndiGoStretch raises that to 30 kg in two pieces, and Stretch+ to 40 kg in two pieces, each with a hand bag of up to 12 kg. A Double Seat or MultiSeat booking adds 10 kg on domestic trips. The Lite fare includes no free checked bag.
Since October 1, 2020, the domestic allowance has stayed at 15 kg per person.

Bangkok, Bali, Kathmandu, Krabi, Malé, Mauritius and Phuket get 20 kg. Nairobi gets 25 kg and Jaffna 15 kg. Pilgrims flying to Jeddah or Madinah get 30 kg, and that includes Zam Zam water.
Manchester still appears in the 30 kg list, but IndiGo suspended its Manchester flights from August 31, 2026.
One cabin bag of up to 7 kg and 115 cm (L+W+H) is allowed, within 55 x 35 x 25 cm, and wheels and handles count toward the size. Next to it you may carry a personal article of up to 3 kg. Soft bags without wheels may have to go under the seat, unless you sit in an exit row or the first row.
IndiGo prints the inch version as 22 x 16 x 9 in, yet its own 35 cm width converts to 14 in, so pack to the centimeter figure.
3 kg is the cap for IndiGo's personal article, which the airline describes as a ladies' purse or a small bag holding a laptop. IndiGo publishes no dimensions for it. The article comes on top of the 7 kg cabin bag on economy fares.
7 kg in a single cabin bag of up to 115 cm is all that Lite includes. A checked bag added to a domestic Lite ticket costs INR 2000 for up to 15 kg in one piece, prebooked or at the airport. Internationally the add-on costs INR 3500 and covers up to 20 kg in two pieces. Lite is sold only on direct flights, not on connections, group bookings or codeshares.
IndiGo announced the Lite fare on July 1, 2026 as its lowest-priced economy fare.

A checked piece may measure up to 158 cm (62 in) in length plus width plus height and weigh up to 23 kg within the free allowance. The conditions of carriage set a hard ceiling of 32 kg per piece, which no excess payment can lift. Anything over 158 cm becomes special baggage with its own fee.
Each extra piece costs INR 1000 at the airport, and you can prebook up to 2 extra pieces. IndiGo's own pages disagree on the prebook price, listing INR 800, INR 900 and INR 1000. Golf bags, bicycles, surfboards, ski gear and oversized cartons count as special baggage at INR 2500 on domestic flights and INR 4000 internationally. Musical instruments fly free.
