Contour Airlines allows a free carry-on up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm), wheels and handles included, plus a 17 x 10 x 9 in personal item. Since May 1, 2026, the first checked bag costs $45 and the second $55, with the first bag free on Flexible. Bags too big for the ERJ bins are returned planeside.
Your carry-on can measure up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm), wheels and handles included. One carry-on and one personal item are free on Super Saver, Standard and Flexible fares. Contour publishes no carry-on weight limit. On its ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 jets, a bag that won't fit in the bin or under the seat is taken at boarding and handed back planeside when you land.
The personal item limit is 17 x 10 x 9 inches (43 x 25 x 23 cm), wheels and handles included, and it has to fit under the seat in front of you. Contour names a purse, laptop, reading material, umbrella, backpack or camera case as examples. Diaper bags, child safety seats, strollers and mobility devices don't count toward the limit.
No carry-on weight limit appears on Contour's baggage page or in its September 1, 2026 contract of carriage. Size is what counts: anything that won't fit in the overhead bin or under a seat is collected before boarding. One weight rule does exist for strollers, which can be carried on only if fully collapsible, under 20 lb (9 kg) and able to fit in the bin.
All three fares include 1 free carry-on and 1 free personal item, and seat selection carries no fee on any of them. Super Saver and Standard charge $45 for the first checked bag. Flexible includes the first checked bag free. From the second bag on, every fare pays the same: $55 for the second and $200 for each additional bag. Super Saver allows no changes, while Standard and Flexible do.
| FARE | CARRY-ON + PERSONAL ITEM | 1ST BAG | 2ND BAG | 3RD+ BAG |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Super Saver | Free | $45 | $55 | $200 |
| Standard | Free | $45 | $55 | $200 |
| Flexible | Free | $0 | $55 | $200 |
The first checked bag costs $45 and the second $55 on Super Saver and Standard fares, under the schedule that took effect May 1, 2026. A third bag or more costs $200 each. Flexible fares waive the first bag only. Bags can be checked only on your day of travel, and Contour's contract notes that first and second bag charges can vary with fare, travel date, military status and itinerary.
Contour only takes checked bags on the day you fly, so there is no early bag drop the night before.

A standard checked bag must weigh under 50 lb (22.7 kg) and, per the contract of carriage, measure no more than 62 linear inches (158 cm). The baggage page gives a different size cap of 90 total inches (229 cm), which we list as a conflict. Bags over 100 lb are refused, and the contract sets an outer limit of 115 linear inches (292 cm). Each passenger can check up to 5 bags.

Overweight bags cost $100 from 51 to 70 lb and $200 from 71 to 99 lb, on top of the regular bag fee, since May 1, 2026. Sports equipment measuring 63 to 80 linear inches draws a $200 fee. Contour doesn't publish an oversize fee for ordinary suitcases. The contract also lists a $100 charge per excess piece.

Only 1 published group checks a bag free: Flexible fare passengers get their first checked bag at $0. Contour publishes no credit card, loyalty or military waiver, although its contract lists active military status as a factor that can change bag charges. Strollers, child safety seats and mobility devices travel free and sit outside the bag count.
Yes, for $150 each way, non-refundable, since July 1, 2026. Contour accepts domesticated dogs and cats in the cabin only, with no hold or cargo option. The carrier can't exceed 24 x 16 x 10 inches (61 x 41 x 25 cm), must fit under the seat and counts as your carry-on. Each passenger may bring 1 carrier, and no more than 3 pet carriers fly on one flight. Pets must be booked by phone, not online.
You can't sit in an emergency exit row with a pet carrier on Contour.
The 22 x 14 x 9 in limit includes wheels and handles, and the real test is the small bin on Contour's ERJ jets. If a bag won't fit there or under a seat, staff collect it before boarding and you pick it up planeside on arrival. No gate-check fee for that step is published.
Yes, on 1 ticket. Bags are tagged through to your final destination when the whole trip with an interline partner is bought as a single ticket. The partners are Alaska, American, JetBlue and United, with JetBlue added on February 3, 2026. Each partner's own bag rules apply on its flights.
Contour aims to return delayed bags within 24 hours on flights within the U.S. Its contract adds that a checked bag that can't go on your aircraft travels on the next flight with space. The baggage page links to an online portal for reporting a missing bag.
