Air Transat allows a carry-on up to 23 x 40 x 51 cm (9 x 16 x 20 in), weighing 10 kg in Economy or 15 kg in Club Class, though Eco Budget includes one only to Europe, Africa, Peru and Brazil. Since June 1, 2026, a first bag bought within 24 hours of departure costs $55 to $100 by route. Club includes two checked bags.
The carry-on limit is 23 x 40 x 51 cm (9 x 16 x 20 in), with a 10 kg cap in Economy and 15 kg in Club Class. Those figures come from Air Transat's tariff, which doesn't say whether wheels and handles count, so measure the bag with them. Eco Budget passengers only get the carry-on on flights to Europe, Africa, Peru and Brazil.
No size is published for the personal item. Air Transat includes one on all flights, on every fare, and it goes under the seat in front of you. On Eco Budget flights to the Sun, the US and within Canada, this is the only free cabin item you get, so a soft bag that fits under the seat is the safe choice.
Yes, a weight limit applies: 10 kg in Economy and 15 kg in Club Class, set in the airline's tariff. That makes Air Transat stricter than many North American carriers, which publish no carry-on weight at all. Pack heavy items like laptops and chargers in the personal item if the main bag is close to the limit.
Eco Budget includes 1 personal item and no checked bag, with a carry-on only to Europe, Africa, Peru and Brazil. Eco Standard adds a carry-on on every route plus 1 checked bag on those four long-haul markets. Eco Flex includes 1 checked bag of 23 kg. Club Standard and Club Flex get 1 carry-on, 1 personal item and 2 checked bags.
Option Plus, sold as an add-on, bundles 1 checked bag of 23 kg with other perks.

Each checked bag can weigh 23 kg and measure 158 cm in total length, width and height. Air Transat accepts heavier or bigger bags as excess baggage up to 32 kg and 292 cm, with a fee. Anything beyond that has to go as cargo.
Overweight bags from 24 to 32 kg cost $100 each, and oversize bags from 159 to 292 cm also cost $100, per the Air Transat tariff. These amounts come from tariffs dated 2022, because the live weight and dimensions page didn't load for us. Bikes cost $50 prepaid or $75 at the airport on domestic flights.

Yes. Cats and dogs fly in the cabin for $50 per segment on US and Canadian flights, or $100 to Europe, Africa and the South. The soft carrier is capped at 43 x 24 x 25 cm (17 x 9.5 x 10 in) and 8 kg with the pet, and it replaces your carry-on. The hold costs $100 to $275 per segment.
Pets must be at least 12 weeks old, and only one animal per passenger is allowed in the cabin.

One stroller and one approved car seat or booster per child fly free, up to 20 kg, under the airline's tariff. They don't count toward the checked bag allowance, which matters on Eco Budget, where no checked bag is included.
With a 10 kg Economy limit and a carry-on included on Eco Budget only to Europe, Africa, Peru and Brazil, the main risk is turning up with a bag your fare doesn't cover. Check your fare before packing a full-size bag on a Sun or US flight. Club passengers get 15 kg and priority baggage handling.
No, except on flights to Europe, Africa, Peru and Brazil. Eco Budget elsewhere includes only 1 personal item that fits under the seat, and no checked bag.
Yes. Club Standard and Club Flex include 2 checked bags of 23 kg each, plus 1 carry-on up to 15 kg and 1 personal item, with priority baggage handling on arrival.
Yes. The June 1, 2026 increase only covers bags bought within 24 hours of departure, and Air Transat says buying Option Plus earlier saves up to 40%. Earlier bag prices show during booking.
Yes. The animal carrier counts as your carry-on item, so you can't bring another carry-on bag. The carrier must be soft-sided and weigh 8 kg or less with the pet.
32 kg. Bags over 23 kg count as overweight and cost $100 under the tariff, and Air Transat won't accept a checked bag above 32 kg or 292 cm.
